The North Texas ILG will provide a collaborative forum that promotes equality in the workplace through education and thought leadership. NTILG Board Members

Mark Nagel
Mark NagelPresident
Mark Nagel currently is Director of Employee Relations and HR Compliance at EssilorLuxottica. His team leads the strategy for AAP, EEO, employee accommodations, wage & hour and related compliance areas.

Prior to EssilorLuxottica Mark worked at Southwest Airlines 8 years as a Sr Leader over the Compliance & Employment Practices, focusing on compliance process evolution and leveraging HR technology.

He also spent 15 years prior working at Best Buy as Director of Employment Practices, covering a variety of HR operational areas including Affirmative Action, HR compliance and Employee Relations. Within that work was the launch of the company’s first ever Affirmative Action program, building from concept to rollout within 9 months. The Best Buy Affirmative Action program was recognized as a best practice environment and its model presented at various ILG regional and national conferences.

Mark has been a member of the NTILG since 2005 to the present. He has served on the Board of Directors and presented at multiple ILG conferences, including NTILG, SWARM and National ILG.

Alex Gonzalez
Alex GonzalezVice President
Mr. Alex Gonzalez is currently a Consultant in the compliance industry. With overall 30 years of Affirmative Action/EEO industry experience, Mr. Gonzalez has assisted hundreds of clients in a wide range of industries in preparing and managing affirmative action programs including Banking and Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing, High Technology, Research and Development, Healthcare, and Higher Education.

Alex has also accumulated over 15 years of software product management expertise. He served as Affirmity’s Product Manager, managing the strategic roadmap for the software suite of products.

As Product Manager, he consistently delivered market-leading innovative, effective, and efficient new functionality ensuring compliance with the constantly evolving affirmative action & EEO landscape.

K. Williams
K. WilliamsTreasurer
K. Williams has over two decades of people space experience in human resources, federal contractor compliance, and equity management. Currently serving as the Director of Equity & Compliance at Vizient, Inc., she plays a crucial role in shaping the company’s equity and compliance strategies and serves as the compliance subject matter expert, contributing valuable insights to various initiatives and programs.

Prior to her current role, K. spent eight years as a Senior Business Consultant at Peoplefluent. There, she developed and implemented comprehensive affirmative action plans for federal contractors, provided audit support, and managed a diverse client base with varying range of workforces.

K. holds both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Dallas Baptist University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. As well as participating in her community commitments through her church and volunteer organizations.

Christine Avila
Christine AvilaSecretary
Christine Avila has been with Affirmity since 2010 and is currently Manager of Consulting Services. She manages a team of consultants and advises clients in a variety of industries on affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and diversity programs.

Prior to joining Affirmity, Christine had seven years of compliance experience as well as four years of recruiting experience for companies in the media and finance industries.

Christine received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University New Orleans.She has served on the North Texas Industry Liaison Group (NTILG) Board since 2011.

Nicolas Paul
Nicolas PaulFormer President
Nick Paul is the Director of Compliance for Kairos Services, Inc. Nick is responsible for directing Kairos’ staff in the preparation and implementation phases of Affirmative Action Programs for Kairos clients. Additionally, Nick Paul is responsible for the development of continuing education for Kairos’ staff and provides technical assistance in EEO and affirmative action to Kairos clients. Serving previously as a Project Manager and Affirmative Action Specialist for Kairos, Nick has assisted contractors through both the development and implementation phases of effective workplace compliance strategies in Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity.

Prior to joining Kairos, Nick served as a team and squad leader with Special Operations’ 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Nick graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas. Speaking from his first-hand experience as a disabled combat veteran, Nick regularly presents compliance strategies to Federal Contractors covering new and forthcoming regulatory changes at local, regional and national ILG Conferences.

Sue Asuncion
Sue AsuncionMembership Chair
Sue Asuncion is the Human Resources Compliance Manager for Pactiv Evergreen, a manufacturer of foodservice, retail grocery, beverage merchandizing and food processing packaging and paper products.
Sue’s been with Pactiv Evergreen since November 2021.

She’s spent over a decade in HR Compliance, including EEO Compliance, I-9, background checks and drug testing program management as well as Affirmative Action Plan management and Diversity and Inclusion Programming. Her industry background includes gas and oil, consumer products, environmental services companies as well as municipal government and the public school system.

Sue received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and holds both PHR and SHRM – CP certifications.
