The North Texas ILG will provide a collaborative forum that promotes equality in the workplace through education and thought leadership. Leveraging our diverse network of practitioners, subject matter experts, and government resources, we drive a commitment to affirmative action, equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, inspiring our members to build the workplace of the future.

Mark Nagel
Mark NagelPresident
Mark Nagel currently is a Sr Leader in the People Department (Human Resources) at Southwest Airlines leading a special focus on HR Transformation and HR Technologies. His previous role in Southwest focused on Employment Practices / Compliance including disability accommodations, employee records, employee relations and employment screening.
Prior to Southwest Airlines Mark was a HR Director Best Buy for 15 years, covering a variety of HR operational areas including Affirmative Action, HR compliance and Employee Relations. Within that work was the launch of the company’s first ever Affirmative Action program, building from concept to rollout within 9 months. The Best Buy Affirmative Action program was recognized as a best practice environment and its model presented at various ILG regional and national conferences.
In his spare time Mark serves on the Board of Directors and sings in Resounding Harmony, a non-profit chorus that performs concerts for other non-profits, raising funds and awareness for their causes.
Alex Gonzalez
Alex GonzalezVice President
Mr. Alex Gonzalez, Director Product Management is responsible for overall management and strategic planning of Affirmity’s Workforce Compliance and Diversity Management Software Roadmap. With over 25 years of industry experience, Mr. Gonzalez has assisted hundreds of clients in various industries in preparing affirmative action programs. Mr. Gonzalez led the North Texas ILG and is currently serving on the Executive Board and Program Committee.
Brenda Sitton
Brenda SittonTreasurer
Brenda Sitton is responsible for North America HR Compliance for Nokia of America Corporation and has been with the company since 1996, previously serving as HR Manager for the Alcatel Longview manufacturing plant from 1996 to 2006. She is currently responsible for North America and Latin America HR Investigations; EEO, Affirmative Action and Employment Equity policies and compliance programs in North America; and government and internal reporting. Brenda received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, majoring in Accounting, and is a Certified Manager and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Christine Avila
Christine AvilaSecretary
Christine Avila has been a Project Manager for Affirmity (formerly known as PeopleFluent) since 2010. She consults clients in a variety of industries in affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and diversity.
Prior to joining Affirmity, Christine had seven years of compliance experience for Turner Broadcasting, Countrywide Financial and Bank of America. Christine’s prior work experience also includes four years of recruiting for Turner Broadcasting and two years handling automobile insurance claims for State Farm Insurance.
Christine received her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University New Orleans.
Nicolas Paul

Nick Paul is the Director of Compliance for Kairos Services, Inc. Nick is responsible for directing Kairos’ staff in the preparation and implementation phases of Affirmative Action Programs for Kairos clients. Additionally, Nick Paul is responsible for the development of continuing education for Kairos’ staff and provides technical assistance in EEO and affirmative action to Kairos clients. Serving previously as a Project Manager and Affirmative Action Specialist for Kairos, Nick has assisted contractors through both the development and implementation phases of effective workplace compliance strategies in Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity.

Prior to joining Kairos, Nick served as a team and squad leader with Special Operations’ 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Nick graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas. Speaking from his first-hand experience as a disabled combat veteran, Nick regularly presents compliance strategies to Federal Contractors covering new and forthcoming regulatory changes at local, regional and national ILG Conferences.

Sue Asuncion
Sue AsuncionMembership Chair
Sue Asuncion is the Human Resources Compliance Manager for Pactiv Evergreen, a manufacturer of foodservice, retail grocery, beverage merchandizing and food processing packaging and paper products.
Sue’s been with Pactiv Evergreen since November 2021.

She’s spent over a decade in HR Compliance, including EEO Compliance, I-9, background checks and drug testing program management as well as Affirmative Action Plan management and Diversity and Inclusion Programming. Her industry background includes gas and oil, consumer products, environmental services companies as well as municipal government and the public school system.

Sue received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and holds both PHR and SHRM – CP certifications.
